Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs is preparing to be sentenced next month following his sex trafficking trial. Ahead of the date, the rapper’s legal team are attempting to help his case by reaching out to escorts who were hired by him.
His lawyers are planning to submit a brief to US District Judge Arun Subramanian, featuring testimony from many escorts Combs paid for “freak-offs.”
Federal prosecutors have described the men as victims. However, Combs’ team wrote in a filing, “We plan to summarise these individuals’ accounts to the government for the court.”
According to Digital Music News, his attorneys claim some of the men gave prosecutors interviews that were previously unknown to the public. Asking for them to remain sealed, prosecutors said, “Statements of non-testifying witnesses are traditionally considered nonpublic.”
Combs is scheduled to be sentenced on October 3rd. In July, the rapper was found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. The charges each carry a maximum 10-year sentence, with prosecutors seeking a 20-year sentence.
Earlier this month, Combs’ lawyers said, “The government has taken the view that several consenting male ‘entertainers’ who willingly consented to sexual activity with Ms Ventura and Jane [Doe] are now victims.”
They added, “These individuals did not testify, and we plan to summarise these individuals’ accounts to the government for the court.”
Combs is currently incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn and has remained behind bars since his arrest in September 2024. The rapper’s team recently reached out to President Donald Trump over a potential pardon.
