Kendrick Lamar was revealed as the most-nominated artist at the 2026 Grammy Awards when the nominations were announced on November 7th.
The Compton rapper received a total of nine nods in the biggest categories, being nominated for ‘Album of the Year’ for his 2024 album, GNX.
Elsewhere, his SZA collaboration, ‘Luther’, was nominated for ‘Song of the Year’ and ‘Record of the Year’.
Kendrick was also all over the rap categories, with GNX receiving a nomination for ‘Best Rap Album’ and ‘TV Off’ being nominated for ‘Best Rap Song’.
The upcoming ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 1st.
The nine nominations follow Kendrick’s sweep at the Grammys earlier this year. For his Drake diss track, ‘Not Like Us’, he won five awards, including ‘Song of the Year’, ‘Record of the Year’, ‘Best Rap Song’, ‘Best Rap Performance’, and ‘Best Music Video’.
“We gonna dedicate this one to the city, Compton, Watts, Long Beach, Inglewood, Hollywood, out to the Valley,” he said on stage. “This is my neck of the woods that held me down since I was a young pup. I can’t give enough thanks to these places that I rode around since high school.”
He continued, “Most importantly, the people and the families out in the Palisades and Altadena, this is a true testament that we can continue to restore this city.”
