Offset Hit With $2.3 Million Tax Bill Amid Cardi B Divorce Battle
Offset’s finances just got a lot more complicated — right as he’s divorcing Cardi B.

The Atlanta rapper has been hit with more than $2.3 million in tax liens, according to reporting by Us Weekly and filings obtained by Complex. Per Us, on October 15, the Internal Revenue Service filed a federal lien totaling $486,426.35 for unpaid 2023 taxes. The outlet reports that there is also a separate federal lien for $1,575,266.73 for the prior year’s taxes.
In addition to the federal lien, the Georgia Department of Revenue filed its own claim earlier this year, asserting that Offset failed to pay his 2021 state income taxes. According to a March filing in Gwinnett County, the state listed a balance of $266,702.21, slightly reduced from the original $294,712.02, with additional interest continuing to accrue.
That brings the total amount the rapper owes to just over $2.3 million.
The mounting tax troubles come at a sensitive time for Offset, who’s coming off a huge divorce from Cardi B. The former couple got married in 2017 and became parents to three children, but they have reportedly been living apart since Cardi filed for divorce earlier this year.
In February, Offset filed for joint custody and spousal support from Cardi. The legal battle has also spilled onto social media, including a September X Spaces in which Cardi accused Offset of trying to drain her financially during the divorce proceedings.
“The only way I can get out of my marriage if I pay for somebody else’s taxes, even though I pay for my own, and give them one of my properties. I’m not, I’m fighting for that,” she said.
Rumors surfaced earlier in October suggesting Cardi might have agreed to a massive multi-million-dollar settlement that gave Offset a 70/30 asset split in his favor, though neither party has publicly confirmed the deal.
Despite all the financial issues, Offset has been keeping his music career going. On Halloween, he released a new surprise solo album, Haunted By Fame, an 11-track project with a dark, horror-inspired sound. It features NBA YoungBoy, Lil Dump, and NoCap.
