New details have emerged about the woman accused of opening fire outside the Los Angeles home of global music star Rihanna, revealing a previous arrest linked to a domestic violence incident involving her former husband.
Authorities say Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, was arrested after allegedly firing multiple rounds at the property shared by Rihanna and rapper A$AP Rocky. While no one was injured in the shooting, investigators are continuing to examine Ortiz’s background and possible motives.
Prior Arrest in Domestic Violence Case
According to a police report from the Orlando Police Department, Ortiz was previously arrested in June 2023 in Orlando, Florida, following a domestic dispute with her ex-husband.
Officers responded to a call outside Ortiz’s apartment after an argument reportedly escalated during a child custody exchange involving their daughter.
Investigators said the confrontation was preceded by a series of text messages in which Ortiz allegedly threatened her former partner. Messages reviewed by police reportedly included statements suggesting she intended to physically attack him.
When the man arrived at the apartment to drop off their child, the situation quickly turned tense.

The man told police he pushed her away to create distance, but Ortiz allegedly continued attempting to strike him.
Altercation Occurred in Front of Their Child
The situation became especially distressing because their daughter was present during the confrontation.
Police reports describe the child becoming extremely upset and crying heavily while the dispute unfolded. Officers noted that the girl was hyperventilating and repeatedly saying she did not want anyone to go to jail.
A responding officer observed a scratch on the right side of the father’s face.
After reviewing the evidence and speaking with those involved, the officer concluded that Ortiz was the primary aggressor in the incident.
She was arrested and charged with battery (domestic violence).
Additional Legal Issues
Court records also show that Ortiz was later arrested again for allegedly violating pretrial release conditions related to the domestic battery case.
In addition to that charge, she previously faced a careless driving citation in 2021.
These past incidents have now resurfaced following her arrest in connection with the shooting outside Rihanna’s residence.
The Shooting Outside Rihanna’s Home
Police say the most recent incident occurred on March 8, when Ortiz allegedly drove to the Los Angeles neighborhood where Rihanna lives with A$AP Rocky and their three children.
Investigators claim Ortiz parked across the street from the property and fired approximately ten shots from what authorities described as an AR-15–style rifle.

Officers later tracked down the vehicle believed to be involved and arrested Ortiz. She was subsequently booked on suspicion of attempted murder.

Investigators are also reviewing social media activity attributed to Ortiz in the weeks before the shooting.
Some posts reportedly referenced Rihanna directly and contained hostile language. One message on the platform X allegedly mentioned the singer by her account name.
Police are examining whether those posts could help explain a possible motive.
Rihanna Reportedly Increasing Security
Sources close to the situation say Rihanna—whose real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty—has been shaken by the incident.
The singer and business mogul reportedly does not understand why her family would be targeted but is taking extra precautions while the investigation continues.
