A judge has blocked a restraining order against Jay-Z regarding Rymir Satterthwaite, who claims to be the rapper’s son.
Satterthwaite claimed his late mother, Wanda, had sexual relations with Jay and has received “unrelenting efforts by [Jay-Z] and his enablers to suppress the truth and silence those who dared to speak it.”
The man’s previous legal guardian, Lillie Coley, filed for a temporary restraining order in the legal case, alleging the rapper filed a motion to impose sanctions against her “as a form of retaliation.”
However, according to Complex, US District Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett denied the restraining order. Coley has accused Jay-Z of avoiding requests for him to take a DNA test to prove whether he’s related to Satterthwaite.
Satterthwaite filed to withdraw his paternity lawsuit in July, before claiming he was bullied into the decision in an Instagram video.
“I have not stopped my fight,” he said. “I did withdraw my case, it’s for a reason, y’all. These judges, these lawyers, these celebrity people. They try to use all different types of tactics and call it what you want, bully tactics, and different types of stuff, to, you know, slow it down and just change the narrative. So it’s like, ‘Hey, we gotta step back and play chess, not checkers.’”
He previously said, “It is both heartbreaking and frustrating to see Mr Carter respond to allegations with such deflection and attacks. My late mother, Wanda, was just 16 years old when she became pregnant with me, and for years I have sought clarity about my identity. This is not about greed or spectacle – it’s about uncovering the truth and ensuring all parties are held accountable.”
In response, Jay’s lawyers said, “The fabricated allegations and claims have been addressed – and rejected – in multiple other courts and [Satterthwaite’s] continued harassment of [Jay-Z] and disregard of those orders has already resulted in a contempt order.”
