Cassie has revealed her fear over Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs being released from prison. The Bad Boy rapper will be sentenced this week, and his former girlfriend is pushing for him to remain behind bars.
Combs was found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution involving Cassie and another woman.
On September 29th, the singer submitted a victim impact statement, detailing Combs’ alleged abuse and urging Judge Arun Subramanian to issue a lengthy sentence.
“For four days in May, while nine months pregnant with my son, I testified in front of a packed courtroom about the most traumatic and horrifying chapter in my life,” Cassie wrote in her letter, acquired by Rolling Stone. “I testified that from age 19, Sean Combs used violence, threats, substances, and control over my career to trap me in over a decade of abuse.”
She continued, “He groomed me into performing repeated sex acts with hired male sex workers during multi-day ‘freak-offs,’ which occurred nearly weekly. I was forced into lingerie and heels, told exactly how to look, and plied with drugs and alcohol so he could control me like a puppet.”
Combs will be sentenced on October 3rd and faces a maximum of 20 years. The rapper has asked for a 14-month sentence, while prosecutors demand 11 years and three months.
Cassie says she remains “as private and quiet as I possibly can because I am so scared that if he walks free, his first actions will be swift retribution towards me and others who spoke up about his abuse at trial.”
She added, “As much progress as I have made in recovering from his abuse, I remain very much afraid of what he is capable of and the malice he undoubtedly harbours towards me for having the bravery to tell the truth.”
