Eminem is co-producing a documentary called “Stans” about superfan culture, inspired by his 2000 hit “Stan.” In partnership with Shady Films, DIGA Studios, and Hill District Media, the film explores the strong connections between artists and their devoted fans. Paramount/MTV will distribute the documentary to a wider audience.

Directed by Steven Leckart, known for his work on projects like “What’s My Name: Muhammad Ali,” the film explores the intense world of fandom. It’s coming out later this year, so get ready for a unique look at the “stan” lifestyle.

Stans is a working title for now, according to Variety, and the movie summary is as follows: “Revealing, edgy, and disarmingly personal journey into the world of super fandom, told through the lens of one of the world’s most iconic and enduring artists, Eminem, and the fans that worship him.”

According to Eminem’s manager Stuart Parr, “Stans will be the opportunity for us to turn the camera around and ask the audience about being fans — and in some cases, fanatics. This is a study of the relationship between fanbase and artist through the lens of one of Eminem’s most fascinating songs and one of the world’s most important entertainers.”

Furthermore, Tony DiSanto (Executive producer, CEO of the Allyance Media Group) told Variety, “Stans will explore the complex relationship between fame and super fandom, told through the lens of one of the world’s most iconic artists, Eminem, his music, and, especially, his most extreme fans.”

The movie is likely to be released later this year.
