The hip-hop world is in shock after bombshell accusations by 50 Cent alleging that rapper Boosie Badazz and Houston music mogul J. Prince Jr. were behind the setup and fatal robbery of celebrity jeweler *Duke the Jeweler*—real name Demetrius “Duke” Ogalry.
This development adds fuel to an already intense federal investigation into Duke’s murder, which took place in June 2025 following a high-stakes dice game at Boosie’s private studio in Houston.
According to eyewitnesses and court documents, Duke was lured into a trap. He had traveled to Houston to sell high-end jewelry at Boosie’s concert but ended up participating in a backroom dice game. After reportedly winning nearly \$400,000 in cash and jewelry, Duke was followed by an assailant tied to Boosie’s entourage. Surveillance footage shows Duke scrambling to escape a vehicle before being gunned down in cold blood. His diamonds and cash were stolen on the scene.
50 Cent took to social media to publicly accuse Boosie of bankrolling a \$325,000 cover-up operation designed to silence Duke’s girlfriend—who allegedly holds damning evidence about what really went down. The FBI is now looking into that alleged bribe, along with claims that Boosie ordered the destruction of key evidence—including instructing associates to burn the getaway car used in the crime.
To make matters worse, J. Prince Jr. has also been pulled deeper into the scandal. His attorney is now representing the 19-year-old prime suspect in the murder.
