Goldie Hawn’s Tribute to Diane Keaton

In a lengthy and emotional Instagram post, Goldie Hawn addressed her late friend by saying, “Diane, we aren’t ready to lose you. You’ve left us with a trail of fairy dust, filled with particles of light and memories beyond imagination. How do we say goodbye? What words can come to mind when your heart is broken? You never liked praise, so humble, but now you can’t tell me to ‘shut up,’ honey. There was, and will be, no one like you.”

Hawn went on to praise the “Family Stone” star for stealing “the hearts of the world,” impacting millions of people with her “genius,” and “making films that made us laugh and cry in ways only you could.”

She went on to recount the fond memories she shared with Keaton while filming the 1996 classic “First Wives Club,” fondly looking back on morning coffee in the makeup trailer, and never-ending laughter and jokes throughout the project. “It was a roller coaster of love,” Hawn said.

Her message went on, “We agreed to grow old together, and one day, maybe live together with all our girlfriends. Well, we never got to live together, but we did grow older together. Who knows. Maybe in the next life. Shine your fairy dust up there, girlfriend. I’m going to miss you.”

The grandmother of eight finished her tribute by sending kind thoughts to Keaton’s kids. “My heart goes to your beautiful children, Dex and Duke. I love you,” she concluded.

Keaton, who never married, became a mom to Dex and Duke in her 50s via adoption, according to People.
