Kanye West - Ye - 2025 - Rapper - Designer

Kanye West has used several different names throughout his career, but now he’s officially changed his legal name again. In new legal documents filed by Hussain Lalani, his chief financial officer, his new name is Ye Ye.

The rapper’s core businesses recently filed a “Statement of Information” with the State of California, providing up-to-date details including office addresses, officers, directors and industry types.

According to The Sun, one of his leading firms, Ox Paha Inc, called him “Ye Ye.” His other companies, such as Yeezy Apparel, Yeezy Record Label LLC, and Getting Out Our Dreams Inc, also used the name in documents.

Kanye changed his name to Ye in 2021 after filing papers in Los Angeles. In the legal filing, Kanye said “personal reasons” were behind the switch. He previously told Big Boy, “I believe Ye is the most commonly used word in the Bible. And in the Bible, it means, ‘You.’ I’m all of you.”

Last year, political commentator and former Yeezy chief of staff, Milo Yiannopoulos, issued a letter to the music industry about Kanye changing his name.

“Ye is one of the most recognisable people in the world, on par with presidents and popes,” he wrote. “He didn’t take the decision to change his name, potentially sacrificing some of the immense value captured by the brand ‘Kanye West,’ lightly. The change was made fully, legally, and permanently. This is who he is now. His name is Ye.”

He continued, “We are reaching out to streaming platforms, publishers, stores, unions, lyrics websites and data resellers. This change will happen everywhere. Your platform has been identified as one of the most visible places this change may occur, and we passionately hope you will be able to fully and properly reflect the new name and identity of such an enormously influential and historic figure.”

In a post on X last month, Kanye declared, “Ima finally stop using the @kanyewest twitter cause my name is Ye. Gonna start a ye account and it is what it is.”

“CHEATING AND THEN PLAYING THE VICTIM?” — Cardi B fiercely responded to Offset’s criticism after the rapper accused her of being too busy signing autographs, promoting, and releasing albums instead of staying home to care for her children and letting them witness their mother’s pregnancy with another man, as if portraying himself as a perfect father. Social media quickly split, but the wave of criticism against Offset prevailed. Numerous comments suggested the rapper was bitter about losing control, and using his children as an “emotional shield” only made him appear more negative. “Cheating and then playing the victim — an old script, but still outrageous,” the world rose up in defense of the queen of rap.
