Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs is scheduled to be sentenced this week. Ahead of the hearing date, prosecutors are requesting an 11-year sentence from the judge.
The Bad Boy boss will discover his fate on October 3rd after being found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution in July.
In a memo filed on September 29th, prosecutors informed Judge Arun Subramanian that they believe 11 years and three months in prison was necessary.
“Punishment for his crimes of conviction must take into account the manner in which he committed them,” they wrote. “His crimes of conviction are serious and have warranted sentences over ten years in multiple cases for defendants who, like Sean Combs, engaged in violence and put others in fear.”
According to Rolling Stone, many victims also shared statements with the court, including his ex-girlfriend, Cassie, who dated the rapper until 2018.
“While the jury did not seem to understand or believe that I engaged in freak-offs because of the force and coercion the defendant used against me, I know that is the truth,” she wrote. “And his sentence should reflect the reality of the evidence and my lived experience as a victim.”
Combs was arrested in September 2024 and has remained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since. The rapper has asked for a 14-month sentence, which would result in his release this year, given the time already served.
During his criminal trial, Combs was acquitted of one count of racketeering conspiracy and two counts of sex trafficking.
